Urban Connect partners with SBB to take employee mobility to a new level

Swiss employees now have easy access to a multi-modal mobility platform, including comprehensive public transport services provided by SBB.

Zürich, June 1st, 2023 – Zurich-based mobility provider Urban Connect announces a strategic partnership with Swiss Federal Railways (SBB), taking mobility services for corporate customers to a new level.

As part of their partnership, Urban Connect and SBB are launching a mobility solution for companies that is unique in Switzerland. At its core is an integrated online platform that bundles various transport solutions as a mobility-as-a-service offering. Employees of the respective companies can use the app to make reservations for e-cars, e-scooters, and e-bikes, book a company parking space, and buy tickets for the train, bus, and tram. All services can be used for private as well as business purposes.

Extended offer is also available for mobility budgets

SBB services are also available as part of another innovative Urban Connect offer: the mobility budget. Corporate customers have the option of providing their employees with a monthly credit, which allows them to select the mobility option of their choice. The credit can be used for all Urban Connect and SBB offerings.

The mobility budget is the key to cost control and emission reduction in fleet management. Fleet downsizing reduces the overall capital expenditure for companies and the cost of maintaining and operating such fleets. In addition, mobility budgets promote the use of climate-friendly means of transport and serve to position the company as a forward-looking employer of choice.

Judith Häberli, Co-founder of Urban Connect, highlighted:

“For us, the new partnership with SBB is a game changer. It offers companies a future-oriented mobility solution that allows them to allocate mobility resources more efficiently, save costs, reduce emissions, and provide end users with a seamless user experience.”
