Company e-bike sharing in rural areas

Hilti Liechtenstein has taken up the challenge of improving the mobility of its employees in the rural region and efficiently connecting different locations. By introducing a corporate e-bike sharing programme in collaboration with Urban Connect, Hilti was able to solve the ‘last mile’ problem and increase employee satisfaction at the same time. Daniel Oehry, HR Project Manager at Hilti and member of the Liechtenstein Parliament, reports on his experiences and gives valuable tips on how to successfully implement an e-bike fleet.

Judith Häberli from Urban Connect opened the webinar with an introduction to corporate e-bike sharing. She explained what corporate e-bike sharing is, how it works and what advantages it offers for companies. Especially in rural areas, this model offers a sustainable and flexible solution for employees to commute comfortably between home and work.

Daniel Oehry explained the specific mobility challenges at Hilti Liechtenstein and why e-bikes are part of the solution. He emphasised the positive impact of the 40 e-bikes that are used at four locations. These have not only improved mobility within the company, but have also helped to relieve traffic congestion in the region.

Another important point was the data analysis of the e-bike fleet. It was shown which data is available to fleet managers in real time and which patterns can be recognised from this. This data helps to optimise the use of e-bikes and further improve the mobility offering.

Finally, the results of a user survey at Hilti Liechtenstein were presented. The survey showed that the mobility behaviour of employees has changed significantly since the introduction of e-bikes. The employees appreciate the offer and use the e-bikes not only as a replacement for car journeys, but also for shorter distances that were previously travelled on foot.

The webinar ended with a Q&A session in which Daniel Oehry and Judith Häberli answered further questions from the participants.
